Welcome to The Canadian-American Friendship Tournament

Greetings Everyone,

Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have had to postpone the 44th Annual Can-Am Friendship Tournament until May 28-30, 2021. We share in your disappointment of not being able to enjoy the tournament this year, however we are excited to invite you to Kingston next year as the Cataraqui Soccer Club will still be taking its turn as host. I hope to see you all there!

As always, keep up to date on the latest tournament developments through this website (canamcup.org).

Be safe and we look forward to meeting you all again in 2021.

Rob McDonald
Cataraqui Soccer Club President

Our 2020 tournament is hosted May 23-24 by Cataraqui Soccer Club of Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

Various teams from Canada and the USA have competed in our great soccer tournament over the years and many friendships have been made (and maintained!).  Our current format of six teams functions very well, three teams from each side of the border.  Since 1978, the venue for the tournament has alternated each year between the USA and Canada.  The John McMichael travelling trophy is awarded each year to the tournament champion as well as a permanent possession trophy.  But perhaps more important, is the tradition of reacquainting old friends and making new ones in gatherings such as the hospitality night, the banquet or in the Canada vs USA over-40 game.
