VETERANS PAGE

The West Rouge Centennial Old Timers Soccer Club, as hosts of the 26th Annual Friendship Tournament in 2002, added the "Veterans Page" to The Tournament Program as a way of recognizing participants.  Their hope was that each host club would present anecdotes, memories and memorabilia about individuals who have contributed to the development of The Tournament and the continuing friendship we all share.

The Luciano "Louie" Motta Remembrance Award

Luciano participated in the Canadian-American Friendship Tournament for some 24 years with his team New Jersey Internationals. His friendly personality, generosity, love for the game and playing at the age of 73 is the stuff of legends.

This plaque is awarded annually to the host team member who has contributed in great measure to the continued success of the tournament.
