Karl G. Rosenbusch
The Lehigh Valley Soccer community was recently saddened by the loss of Karl Rosenbusch this spring. Karl was well known in the Valley as a referee; however, many are unaware of his organizational efforts and the tremendous volume of time he devoted to our sport, both at the adult and youth levels. While Karl's history in the sport take him from player, coach, referee, organizer, contributor and fan, his legacy should reflect his unsung and often silent contributions to the sport.
Karl was a member of the United States Soccer Federation for 40 years. Karl unselfishly served on the Lehigh Valley Soccer Board for many years often fulfilling the responsibilities of several board positions at the same time. Without his support the league would have folded a long time ago. You could also find Karl refereeing many youth games on a Saturday and Sunday morning. Karl also served on the selection committee for the Lehigh Valley Soccer Athlete Award. He was honored to be the first inductee to the Lehigh Valley Soccer Hall of Fame, and award typically bestowed at the Lehigh Valley Scholar Athlete banquet.
Karl loved this tournament. Over the years you could find Karl at the Canadian-American Friendship tournament, refereeing, enjoying the camaraderie, or simply watching a game. We will truly miss Karl and his many contributions to this tournament and to the sport of soccer in the Lehigh Valley. God Bless you Karl, you are in our thoughts.
